The Farm

A small organic mountaintop farm overlooking the Youghiogheny River Lake.

We believe what you put in your body matters.

Our Story

The Beginning of Our Journey

Adam, Judy, and their son with a dirt bike on the farm, the lake in the distance

We knew we were ready for a big move. We were learning to pay attention to what our attention was called to, and we reflected on our lives. Adam was a chef, Judy taught wine classes, and people often told us we made them feel truly welcome. After years of heavy drinking, we were learning about clean living, permaculture, and managing our ADHD and many interests, and we wanted to share it.

After meditating on it, we knew we wanted a farm: a place to grow healthy food, host classes, and invite others in to share their wisdom. We want our son to learn from artists, healers, musicians, masters of their craft, and novices too. We can all learn from one another.

We have lived many lives in this one: bikers, hashers, and burners. When we found the land, the first people we met in town had a Burning Man chat group called the Afterburners, and when they needed a name for our farm, they put us down as Afterburners. It fits on many levels.

We want people to refuel and fill their cup. Come for organic produce and products, teach or attend a workshop, learn to move energy, kayak the lake, or join us as a WWOOF volunteer.

Organic AF. And We Mean It.

No carcinogens, no shortcuts, no compromises.

After cancer, Judy wanted to reconnect with her farming roots. Adam wanted out of the city. And to ride dirtbikes. Our first challenge, a 3 acre field full of Poison Ivy.

We refused to use glyphosate and tackled it with silage tarps and our own labor.
Organic AF

Know what’s in your food. Walk among the trees. Enjoy a farm to table experience. Reconnect with the land, with real food, and with yourself. That’s Afterburner Farm.

We learned the hard way that what you put in your body matters. The people who come to this farm deserve fuel that’s as real as the change they wish to make in the world.

What We Grow

From Our Farm to Your Table

Everything on the farm is organic. Beyond organic. No carcinogens, no shortcuts. Just good soil, good water, and patience.

Life on the Land

Who You’ll Meet

We have trees, bees, worms, chickens, and a bunny. We may have goats by the time you visit. Plenty of wildlife and fresh air.

Stay With Us

WWOOF & Farm Stays

We host WWOOF volunteers who are novices or experts, sharing organic knowledge, trading a few hours of farm work for meals, a place to stay, and an experience you can’t get from a screen.

Farm life without the mortgage. You’ll get your hands into the real work, weeding, harvesting, and tending the orchard and greenhouse, and see firsthand what it takes to go from seed to supper. When you want a break, the trails, the river, and the shade of the trees are right here whenever you need them. Meals come from what we grow. You’ll sleep in our yurt, travel trailer, or studio. Simple, clean, and surrounded by greenery and fresh air.

No experience needed. Just a willingness to get your hands dirty and slow down for a while.

From our community

“The trees here, the walks in the forest, the day at Ohiopyle. It all led to such deep relaxation.”
